Exercise Support

Iron Phoenix Athletics

Aron Cavette

Note from Dr. Lara: I’ve known Aron for over 10 years and worked with him myself years ago. He is a highly skilled personal trainer and owner of Iron Phoenix Athletics, a gym in NE Salem. I’ve always appreciated Aron’s skill working with people of all abilities and even with complex medical needs. His focus on teaching excellent form helps to minimize injuries.

Body Composition Testing

Physiq gym in South Salem

  • Has same InBody 570 device we used

  • With a basic gym membership ($20/mo), they charge $10 extra for the body scan

  • With a premium membership ($50/mo), unlimited body scans are included

DEXA body composition scan at Salem Radiology

  • Considered the ‘gold standard’ test for body composition analysis (more accurate than InBody scans)

  • Requires an order from your physician

  • Generally not covered by insurance, costs ~ $100 out of pocket

Home smart body composition scales: the regular at-home Bluetooth scales that you see on Amazon are about 89% accurate vs gold standard DEXA for body composition analysis, i.e. not as accurate but can be used to follow trends. Good enough for home use if used consistently.

Pricier but more accurate home smart body composition scales:

- InBody Dial H20: About $299, one user only; has a free app which can also track exercise

- InBody Dial H30: $349, up to 20 users for scale and app
